Another exhaust thread
« on: 24 April 2011, 23:51:51 »

So I'm been contemplating buying a GM exhaust to replace the pattern I had fitted two months ago. I want to replace it because its too loud and looks horrible basically. The GM, even with a further 20% off trade club prices is still expensive.

Now I've also been reading about how great Eternal exhausts are and at the price I'm temted to give them a go. Question is if I replace just the backbox will it quieten things down or do I need to replace the whole lot? Are the Eternals now twin wall?

Has anyone got a picture of their car with the Eternal zorst fitted? Want to see how it looks with the short the tail pipes.

Think people are of the opinion to get exhausts anywhere but Vauxhall pretty much, seems the Vauxhall one represents poor value and isn't made to a good enough standard recently.

iirc a lot of people have fitted rear silencers on the eternal exhaust backbox so that it fits more flush and looks that bit better.

Yeah that's it, couldn't quite remember the exact term.  From Wilkinson's iirc.

I've read this a few times.

If the Eternal exhausts are nearly as good as the old GM and the new GM is slightly better than the Eternal, then doesn't that mean the new GM is on par with the old version.  ;D

Pretty much decided to try out the eternal backbox on its own, just hope the noise level will be reduced. Can someone point me in the right direction as I cant find the box on their website. Assistance would be appreciated.

Also, what diameter are the tailpipes on the eternal? Will order some trims at the same time and want to make sure they fit.

Thanks for the picture, looks pretty nice. Although it looks as it the tail pipes are pointing upwards...got another picture from a different perspective?

What size are the actual pipes/what size tailpipes did you buy? I'd want something to fit quite snug

Tailpipes are straight its just the angle of the photo :y

Trims were 53 mm which fit tight over the standard tailpipes
