Water Leak???
« on: 05 May 2011, 13:00:08 »

Hi all,

I seem to have what I think is a water leak on my V6. There is water dripping from the underneath but I don't think it's anti freeze?

I changed the coolant on Saturday for nice fresh red and completely flushed the system.

It did want a top up as it said coolant low this morning after my father in law used it, but I told him that's normal - air locks moving etc.

The water is not red or soapy from underneath and seems clear, I can confirm the climate control was off at the time.

Any ideas please?

Airlocks are common, especially when the heater is not set to 'hot' when refilling and burping the hoses for said airlocks.

As to water dripping, is your AC now on, given that its turned out nice again?  If its warm outside and you set aircon to cold inside, you will get condensate forming which drips from beneath.  Not sure the exact point though, would need a further clue from someone else...   :y

Update,

My father in law says that there is some red anti freeze coming through now and it is at the front of the engine low down by the drivers side. Any ideas? Could it be the water pump?
