Memory seat failure
« on: 01 June 2011, 21:02:40 »

Hello, today I noticed my memory seats wouldn't work from either the adjustment levers or the memory settings. All i got was a click noise from that area.

They have both been fine upto now, not sticking etc, so hasn't been gradual, but a sudden stop. It doesn't sound like a fuse a power must be getting there is it is clicking when the buttons are pressed. Also the mirrors don't adjust when the memory button is pressed.

Any ideas anyone? Thanks

Perhaps the clicking noise is coming from a relay that fires up a different, fuse protected, circuit?
First thing to check with any electrical problem is the fuses, I usually check all of them, regardless of what the fuse box cover/user manual states.

Not dropped a pound coin or similar into the workings ?
The drivers seat on my breaker wouldnt move, but when I spent half a day retrieving £6.50 worth of coins from the runners it workes fine. ;) :D
The 50p piece was almost bent double btw - had to straighten it with a club hammer before I could spend it. ;D ;D ;D

Thanks both it was  a fuse after all! Probably from me cutting the permanent 12v feed in towbar loom without disconnecting battery! Oops! All sorted now! However my pax side has always had limited travel, I've tried looking for coins but space is limited to say the least!
