Hi All

Not had a happy time recently but things are on the up at last. Not been albe to use the Omega for the last 6 months due to lack of funds but started her today ad she fired up first time. I have noticed however that there is smoke coming out from underneath the black cam covers. Am I right in thinking that this is blown cam gaskets?

Any help greatly appreciated!

yup sounds like it

Yes,probably oil has leaked onto the manifolds hence the smoke,don't forget to only use genuine parts when you replace them and clean the breathers as per the maintenance guides here

you sure that it is coming from cam covers or just excess oil on engine ?? i.e is it passenger side by oil filler ??
have a go at giving the engine a clean before going down the replacment gaskets line

Its drivers side and seems to be underneath the black cover. The black cover itself is clean and dry?

Additional info. Its the first time I've started the car in 6months and there was also a lot of smoke from the exhaust although I was expecting that?

hmmm does seem like the gasket then
wondering whether being stood for so long without use has caused any gunk that has collected in the breathers to harden up and in turn blow the cam gasket on start up ??  dont really know just throwing up some ideas
