Recommended battery supplier
« on: 20 June 2011, 11:08:06 »

Hiya,

Can anyone recommend a good battery supplier. Need one for my 98 2.5 V6 and refuse to pay Hellfraud prices.

Any help much appreciated. "Think" i need about 400 A cranking and 55Ah. Don't have owners manual so taking a guess on size.

Cheers

Vauxhall "Go" batteries from the main dealers are good value on trade club and excellent quality. No reason to go anywhere else.

Cheers for that Kevin. Sounds daft but "trade club"??. Does the forum have an agreement, do you apply for a member card?? How do you go about this?

You join the AutobahnStormers club and part of your £20 membership gets you a trade club card (and you can save more than that on your first oil change, assuming you DIY)

Whereabouts in W. Berks are you?

The easiest way is to join AutoBahnStormers (http://www.autobahnstormers.org/). All members are sent a trade club card that can be used in most Vauxhall dealerships.

Failing that contact andyc who can supply parts mail order for forum members (maybe less than ideal for a battery, admittedly).

If you need one in a rush, then (the ABS card takes a couple of weeks to arrive - or at least mine did) then I'm happy to go pick one up for you if you like :)

Hi Aaron, thats a cracking offer fella, much appreciated. I'm guessing you'd go to the service place on the Southern Ind est. Can you give us an idea of cost for the battery......and being cheeky, oil + filter.

Cheers
