Vacuum Hoses for 3.0
« on: 21 June 2011, 17:13:38 »

It turns out my MV6 is missing a couple of it's vacuum hoses - specifically the ones which control the multirams...  >:(

Wonder why it seemed a bit slow...  :'(

What size do I need - 3mm? 4mm? Is there a particular type to buy or avoid?

I'm assuming that I buy a length "off-the-shelf", and cut it to size?

Does anyone have a guide to where the pipes are routed through the engine bay (I've had a look at the guide, but that shows the connections, and not physical locations).

Is there anyone in my local area (south leeds/wakefield) who I can visit to have a look at how their hoses are connected?

Thanks!

Vacuum pipes runs from back of engine ,clips onto the cable housing on the passenger side and under the throttle box and then into the correct points at the multi-rams.HTH :y

It's a start.  :y

Update:
Some twonk has jammed the front multiram actuator open/closed with half a dozen self-tapping screws when they've taken off the hose, so probably gonna end up having to replace that as well...

What size vac hose do I need?
Will it be the same size as all the other lengths? Or do certain sections have different bores?
I've visited all the local scrappies, and non have an intact engine i can look at.  :(

Need to do some investigating first - find out if the multiram actuator is buggered, or it's just been jammed in some vain attempt to "improve" it (or just to bodge it cos the twonk couldn't be a*sed to fit a piece of hose), then I shall be in touch "with the breakers"  ;)

I`m in Kirkstall if thats any help.

Regarding the vac pipes it might be worth a trip to the Vx dealers cos they might do it on a roll, it`s worth a shot.

front actuator now sorted and is activating at c.4000rpm.

can't see any life in the back one now tho.  >:(

found a scrappie with a 3.0 saloon elite in it. two multiram flaps, the control bits and all the hoses, a wood effect single din facia(?), and a new cupboard door for the one near my right leg - all for a fiver  :)
