New front discs & pads required. Which ones?
« on: 03 July 2011, 22:46:56 »

As per title, front discs have too much of a lip on them for my liking, so along with a fluid change I want to change the front discs & pads.
Question is, do i go for Vx OEM or say EBC grooved discs with Mintex pads ?? Car will be towing a caravan (sorry for swearing :-X)
Are Vx value for money?  :-/

Any advice welcome. :y

Buy them from Vauxhall when you get your crank sensor. IIRC TC discs & pads are around £100 for the set.

Do as AndyB says - they also cause less brake muck from being put onto the ally's.
I always go for the allround fitment too cos the rears are just as important as the fronts.

Best value has to be from dealer on TC.

don't like tc pads personally but the oe alternative is very expensive.

Always genuine on the front and Apec at the back over here. Usually change the discs at every other pad change.

Don't forget to refit the shims on the rear pads :y

As others say, Vx for the front. Pattern ones are universally shite for road use.

Persoanlly, I stick to genuine on the back as well.
