F/L Side Mouldings/Door Trims Removal
« on: 05 July 2011, 10:47:00 »

Can't find a how to for the removal of the side mouldings on a facelift estate...

Can anyone give me a quick guide on how to remove the parts from the front wings, front and rear doors, rear quarter panels and tailgate? Preferably without having to strip the car down first...

TIA  :y

Doors - little torx screws at the ends, accessible from the back of the door. Then slide the trim rearwards and off it comes. Very easy. Wings - iirc one plastic nut needs to come off which is accessed after removing the wheelarch liner. Tailgate - break nose. Hth. :y

Tailgate trim has 3 'poppers' that push into a sleeve, take the internal trim off and you'll see them easily. I think you can apply pressure from inside the tailgate to help ease them out.

Rear quarter was a pig, uses a similar push fit option but I couldn't find a way to push from inside so you are left with careful prising.
