Went out to the Rangey this morning checked I had the leads in the dizzy cap right, I had. I turned the Crank until at TDC, took out spark plug one where the piston was at the top, then checked where the Rotor Arm was pointing, yes it was pointing at Lead 1.
I then checked all the connections, earth strap etc which all looked fine.
Fetched the battery that I had been charging since yesterday, put the connections on.
On the first turn of the key, She Burst into life :D tappets tapped for a few seconds then went quiet. Took out for a run then dropped all the water and add anti-freeze....  Did the school run, when starting the car before it would be missing but not now!! :D

I did nothing really different than yesterday, so wondering if I flooded it when i thought it was going to fire (as when I removed a plug it smelled strongly of petrol) or if the snow yesterday which had at one point covered the engine didn't help........

Anyway thanks to everyone for your words of Wisdom yet again.

Daz :y :y

Sounds like youdid a good job, but yesterday it had not oil in and you do not mention putting any it today ;)
