Hi all. I hope everyone's ok?
Just a quick question= My CDR 2005 wouldn't eject a cd earlier, it kept saying "no cd" but when i pressed the eject button it tried to eject the cd it thought it didn't have!!!!!!!!!!
In the end i had to lightly bash the cd player whilst it was trying to eject, the cd came out a few mm & i could just get my finger tips on it to pull it out. Now the cd has some scuff marks on from what i would think to be the pushing mechanism.
Has anyone else had a similer problem & could offer some advice.

Which make of CDR2005 are you having troubles with ?

Are you using genuine discs?

I`ll make a guess then that your unit also takes the cds in quite slowly and sluggishly ass well?

If so, there is a wide loading roller made from rubber that has probably become contaminated and "Shiny" over the years and cannot grab teh disc correctly. This is fairly common, and a quick clean of the rubber rollers with a spirit cleaner (or acetone if you are carefull) will often cure that.

The situation has probably been made worse by the use of CD`r discs as they are slighly thicker and this is deforming the rollers meaning that there is even less surface area on them to grab the discs.

before this post gets flooded with everybody stating that they use cdr`s, just remember that this unit was around long before CD`rs were commonplace, and it is not compatable with them.

If you are not confident in cleaning it, I am more than happy to do this for you, or take a look at it if you want to send it over to me.

Resist the temptation to clean any other surfaces whilst you are in there - keep to the long round grey or black rubber roller only. Runs the full width of the player and right at the front.

Serious damage to the laser will occur if you get any cleaning liquids near it, and most surfaces have a nice film of "Grease" to allow movement without restrictions, and very easily stripped clean if not carefull.
