CDR500
« on: 22 May 2008, 19:46:31 »

HI guys,

What type of discs and data does the CR500 play?

I assume it will play copied discs with the data burnt as a an audio cd?

CD + or -?

R or RW? etc

None of the above.

the CDR500 was launched long before the influx of copied discs and is designed to play shop bought discs only as playing anything else will strain the laser to destruction due to the smaller recorded data segments used on CDR`s etc.

Yup doesn't like copied discs, as I found out. Though to be honest, mine doesn't like many discs at all, and at the moment is convinced there is no cartridge inside it ;D

Probably a sign of a failing laser.  Whether caused by using cdrs long term, or simple wear and tear is another discussion covered before...

It's the second unit I've had in the car. I just think it's a bit picky to be honest. Works fine sometimes, other times not. Luckily I like the radio... ;)
