Could do

Crossovers stop the high frequencies going to the woofer, and low frequencies to the tweeter

The factory tweeter has a crude crossover built into it, so you could just replace the bass driver if the tweeter works OK. Wouldn't necessarily perfectly match the bass driver's response but in a car environment it would sound fine, I'm sure.
