Removal of CDR2006E & installation of 3rd party HU
« on: 05 July 2008, 15:19:56 »

[size=12]Hey, im new :) My name is Myron, nice to meet ya

I recently purchased a V plate Elite Omega, im rather happy with it so far, just a few things to sort out, including the Head unit in it.l

I've read on this forum about third party head units not working properly with the bose amplifier, well I obviously found this out when i took out the old CDR2006E and installed a pioneer head unit in it with standard ISO. Although the display works, no sound, what so ever comes out of it. I'm changing it as the CD changer just does not recognise CD's anymore.

I've heard about ripping wires in out, here there and everywhere, I though to myself that if the bose amplier has RCA leads then I would run the ones from the back of the pioneer to the bose amp. NO JOY! Damn

The only solution I see is to get myself a reconditioned CDR2006 From vauxhall @ £109 + Vat including my unit, + £20 + Vat for all the releavant codes etc for it, if that is the only thing I can do then I will.

I cant be bothered to upset door cards, leathers and carpets as ive done that enough in the vectras I had before this.

Please tell me if there is some speacial ISO lead attatchment or something like it so I can just put in an aftermarket unit then I will be most happy, before I start spending rediculous money, on a rediculoud head unit from vauxhall.

Thanks a bunch :)

Welcome :)

Sorry to say, Bose amp runs at an odd level. Its not speaker level, and not line level.  That and impedence matching makes it nigh on impossible to do much with :(

I think Dave DND (an car audio specialist here) said somebody made an adpater for levels, not sure if it would work in your case  :-/

If you want to fix CCR2006, the CD unit can be swapped with a cdc3 (may have to retain pcb from yours), bit fiddly, but doable so I've been told.

Other options are to rip bose out.  The bose speakers are 2ohm, so they'd need to be replaced as well.
