MID reprogram - aimed at TB...
« on: 25 July 2008, 22:01:55 »

Just spotted on TB's "Mini site" MID reprogramming...does this mean if I find one from an MV6 (for example), it can be reprogrammed for my slushbox 4-pot?

Got that sick of the missing pixels, i removed the bulbs so it doesn't bother me at all now...

I'm assuming mine's a MID - 3 section, date at top, and clock at the bottom (yellow plug version, IIRC)?

Just saw some words regarding 8/10 digit ones as well...any difference?

The yellow/black connector type, I can do via post, but it leaves a couple of error codes stored in there (no problem) - I need to modify the rig slightly

The Grey type, no problem.

The 8/10 digit thing is one of the difference between yellow/black and grey connector versions, and obviously if you have the older mid, radio will already be set up for 8 digit display.

Though all retail MV6 types will be newer grey style connector.

The radio thing doesn't bother me as i'm using a Sony unit anyway.

OK..not looking for an MV6 one, then!  Will a Vectra one work, post reprogramming -or are they different again?

Spotted a german ebayer doing repairs..but at £170, aren't they cheaper through Vx???
