Dash possibly not fully seated.  MID (computer display) gets its 'fuel left' reading from dashboard.

I have once heard this to happen (not on my car): the fuel gauge shows only 3/4 or so when full. MID shows range correct. Sender unit was replaced without any success, next idea was that the carage would replace the whole dash to correct this, appeared too expensive and has been left as it was ever since. But still, if anyone has any ideas what might be the reason, I'm glad to hear and will pass this info on to the owner.
