ABS pump/ecu replacement
« on: 01 December 2008, 14:08:07 »

Going to change the ABS pump + Ecu on a friends 2.0 16v as changing the sensors has not fixed the problem of his light staying on.

The car is a 96 model on a N plate. The donor parts are from a 1995 3.0 Elite (its all i have) Aside from the traction control will this still fit and work as it should? or do I need to source one from the correct age/model?

Given the time and work involved and the fact that its not my car i want to get it right first time.

Cheers  ;)

I could be wrong, but looks a lot easier to change the ABS/TC ECU on the 2.0 as far more room and therefore a lot easier to get to the 6 screws to remove and replace, someone else will know better than me till I try this tomorrow lol

But I would agree its unlikely to work unless its the same ECU model etc...

I can tell you tomorrow how easy it was to get the 2.0 ABS/TC ECU off or is there a reason you need to change the whole unit?? If you can get the part number it will be easier to find a replacement...might be the same as the one I'm putting on tomorrow, however that of course means I wont have a spare to sell you (well not one thats working anyway lol)  :y
