Who remembers back in the day when you just put a tenner in for the week? that was for work and out in the evenings, just driving around for the sake of it then a Saturday night would cost you a whole fiver for 1 evening :( :(

In 3 litre bottles, I noticed that too and far easier to pour into your tank than the big 20 litre soft plastic bottle that Costco's comes in ....  allegedly! ::)  ::)  ::)  ::)

Asda in Glasgow still doing unleaded at 99.9p per liter and diesel 104.9 per liter :y

That seems pretty good

Over £1 a litre is GOOD!??

It's true, the government really do brainwash this country..  ::)

No one brainwashes me. :o
I think you missed my feeble attempt at a little irony, driving from Durham to Glasgow to save a couple of pennies.  ;D
Filled up today at Tesco £108.9 City diesel, is this different from other diesel, it is the only one they had. :'(

remind me how much duty we pay on fuel

75%

..don't forget you then pay VAT on top of that.

So it works out as:

Price of petrol
Then Tax the cost of the petrol
Then VAT on the cost of the Petrol+Tax.

Works out about 83% of the price of fuel goes to the govt.

I drive from peterborough to exeter every weekend to see my girlfriend. With the move to a newer PD engined Tiptronic Passat TDi from a manual with the older VP type engine, the cost of the 600 mile trip has gone from £55 to £80  :o :'(

...hence I'm looking for a sensibly priced LPGer, as I could effectively run a 25mpg petrol car for less than it costs to put petrol in the diseasal.

I used to have a Toyota Hilux Surf (imported thing) that I ran on 100% Veg oil...but then I had to..it did 12mpg  :o :o :o (I kept it 6 weeks then got a V40)
