Fiddly Help Please
« on: 29 March 2009, 16:25:22 »

(ok what a strange thread title)

I have been trying to the last 2 hours to get by alpine iPod connection from behind the head unit to inside the cabin (footwells).
There just doesnt seam to be anyway down. i even tried feeding some thin string down but couldnt get that out into the foot wells.
Are there any tips or hints to get this cable down n out pleassse. Doing my head in now.
Car is a facelift btw.

hi,
there is not much room but it is possible. If you undo and pull forward the radio cage (you don't have to full remove it - but most of the time it helps) look to the left and down, there is a very small gap just by the heater vent to the passenger footwell. you can get a couple of cages down - but I found it easier feeding a cable up to start (then tape your cable too it and pull ... slowly. it will go.

is there any one close to you who could lend a hand, one person at the feed the cable the other looking for it by the radio (helps)

Can you suggest a better way to carry all my music in the car? Im talking ALOT of CD's. I know i cant listen to them all at once, however i'd like to be able to pick and choose what to listen to.

By wireless, i take it you mean the radio? There is nothing but shit on the radio, apart from some of the banter or chris moyles or scott mills show.

I know you disagree tho  ;) ;)

LOL, I really can't stand Moyles. Never could, even when he was on local radio around these parts ;D.

How on earth did we survive when our cars only have cassette players ;)

If you need to connect the gayPod to std headunit, the only solution is a good quality FM adapter I'm afraid...   ...and there is normally a convenient break in the aerial in drivers kick panel.

If you're HU has a gayPod interface, and you need to run a lead, follow the route the Traffic Master lead goes

What about something like a Kenwood HU which has a USB port, and use a USB memory stick. Works a treat for me  :)
