What radio should I have in my car?
« on: 21 June 2009, 13:00:28 »

My 2.5v6 elite has the wrong radio cassette unit in it.
It currently has the ccr600.

The car has the blaupunkt cd changer & factory fitted telephone ariel stalk + it's a bose system.
What radio/cassette should be in their?

I slid out the ccr600 and the cage it sits in has the wires built into it as you can't see any wires, only sockets the unit plugs into so I believe the correct one probably had the same connectors on the rear too.

Just to note the ccr600 works ok but limited low volume control as some on here mentioned it would be.

This one should be in an early elite. The one I have posted is an CCTR800 the one without the BOSE written on the cassette flap is a 600 :y
600 will slide out and the 800 will slide straight in  :y

I hope I don't have this wrong..
Does your head unit look like the one I have posted a picture of but without Bose on the cassette flap?
If so I know you can get a nokia phone charger/hold that wired under the passenger footwell (the card panel that is held up by a couple of plastic clips) as my Sweet Yound Thing had one in her old Elite :y
The small screen to the left of the head unit is Sat Nav :y

1998 Elite wouldn't as standard come with a phone (it may be prewired for a phonekit, hence aerial).

1999 Elite will have phone as part of its ccrt700 stereo
