hi i have a 3.0 mv6 manual 1999 and im very interested in supercharging it i have found a kit that will fit but it does not include an ecu, i was wondering can the current ecu be remapped to suit the supercharger

if you want more power, stick a 6.0 V8 from a Monaro in there, be cheaper & easier

A supercharger needs to be carefully matched to the air volume requirements of the engine, the boost pressure you desire and the speed of rotation if the result is going to be a success.

It strikes me that someone who sells a kit that "will fit" but not a complete solution has probably not been through this process very thoroughly nor had a prototype up and running on a dyno and proved it.

Assuming the supercharger is vaguely suitable the standard ECU will not be able to handle the fuelling and ignition requirements of more than a very mild amount of boost so, if it's going to be worthwhile, you are looking at an aftermarket fully mappable ECU. At this point you need either very deep pockets to throw money at someone to get it running or plenty of understanding and time.

Not impossible, and an interesting project, but it won't be "plug and play" whatever you do.

Yep, and cooling of the back cylinders apparently becomes an issue too.

AR35 is rated to 350nm IIRC but if you're going to ditch the original ECU you'd be mad to try to retain an automatic gearbox IMHO.
