Alarm and interior lights
« on: 24 February 2010, 23:22:05 »

Hi all first time posting. I have just brought a 2000 Omega CDX 2.2 estate and have driven it a week with no problems. Tonight on the way home the interior light came on and off on its on accord. Parked up and the alarm went off by itself. Better half went out in it and said the interior light was like a disco on way back and once parked up on drive alarm went off again for no reason. I have read some of the posts on alarms but think this maybe linked to interior lights as both faults started together. Any ideas anyone......

Alarm is probably leaking batteries in powersounder or faulty underbonnet sensor switch. Interior light flashing, check that the side/headlight switch is in correct position. When fully home you should be able to pull the switch part out one click to activate the interior light. If there`s no resistance when pulling the switch that`s your problem. Failing that, check connections on doorpillar microswitches
