battery problem
« on: 11 August 2010, 13:30:20 »

I got this new battery about 4 months back, but every now and then, the car refuses to start all of a sudden, cause somehow the battery dies out.

I went and got the battery checked and they said that its ok, so I dont know whats causing the problem ??

Is it not charging up or something, or are there some loose wires ??

And why does it not always happen ?? I mean once it breaks down and I charge it with wires connected to another battery, they its alright for over a week, and then suddenly I come home and then I want to go again after like an hour and it doesnt start !!  :-X

Sounds like its being drained by something permanent live?
You can check the voltage at the battery for charging / non charging easily enough with a volt meter (or get your mechanic to)
Not leaving something on that has a permanent live connection ? any after market accessories?

First step is to work through this guide: http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1225724099

If the problem is intermittent I would be looking for a loose crimped connection to the battery / alternator / starter terminals or a loose grounding strap.
