seat belt light on dash board
« on: 19 August 2010, 10:19:03 »

just noticed when I removed the speedo from my donor car that this one didn't have a seat belt light in the back of the unit, if i put one in would it light up until the seatbelt is clicked in?

Do you mean the airbag light?

Let me guess it comes on, goes off and then comes back on again when you put the ignition on?

I've just re-read your message. Are you saying the airbag bulb from your car has been removed?

What happens with the new instrument cluster that I guess has the bulb in?

Rob i think he means the light you get which flashes until you put your belt on.. I remember Volvo's years ago had them... i thought it looked like a wee woman..  ;D

yes the seatbelt light, i took a speedo complete unit out of my donor car, really easy to remove actually, i can see how people rig clocks now lol.

when i looked at the back of it the seat belt light blulb was missing, so i wondered if it had one in if it would flash until you put your seat belt on.

You'd need the relevant switches in the seat belt anchors too.  ;) Not a UK requirement so veru unlikely to be there, though I've never looked.

suppose you're right.

I'm building up a nice collection of spares now from my donor car, I am surprised how much there really is (stuff you would normally over look, sun visors etc.).
