MID problem. Won't switch off !!
« on: 23 July 2010, 17:15:57 »

Help!!!!!

My MID has decided not to turn itself off after removing the key from the ignition  :-?
It sits displaying 'outside temp' plus the temp and the time  :-/
Also the date has disappeared and only displays whilst the 'R' button is pressed on the wiper stalk  :-?
The date appears and can be altered using the MID buttons but vanishes again  ::)
Only noticed after plugging in the caravan (S and N socket). Never been a problem before and might not be related  :(

Glad you got that sorted.

My Elite has the old Traffic Master system (TM) fitted (although I have not subscribed as it is useless these days with Sat nav etc.).

Sometimes accidentally pressing the TM button will mean the radio and screen stays locked on with "message" displayed - nothing will turn it off. Only thing to do is to disconnect the Battery and remove stereo to clear the problem. Annoying - yes. I must remember to remove the TM system at some point.

Not a big job from what I remember.

True, not a big job, just means bending down and getting underneath to remove the double connector - and whilst I am at it, i might check the rear brake switch because the cruise control has never worked and that might be a problem area.

Although VX could not work out why it (the cruise control) didn't work either! I have tried a new control unit to no avail. All that VX would say was " has any work been carried out on this before" ?

Dodo's and extinction come to mind!
I think they wanted loads to get a tech 2 diagnosis, I didn't buy it. How often can one use crusie control in the uk anyway! But nice to know it would work anyhow.
