Headlights

Hi all
my 1999-200 mk1 CDX has poor headlights...
And thsi time of year it is proving an issue as I am sure other will agree  :P

A. Are there any replacement lamps on the market that will give brighter headlights?  :-?

B. Can the existing headlights be adjusted, mine seem way out, particularly the drivers side (low and to the right?)
(Existing Bulbs checked and seem seated correctly)  :-?

C. Is it practical to consider Mk2 Facelift HID Headlamp Units as a straight switch? :-?

there are various 'upgrade' headlights about .... eg Philips? Nightbreakers. Others will be able to  tell you better.

Why would you not be able to manually adjust a headlamp? Look on top of your headlights and you see two allen headed 'bolts' to move your lamps up/down and left/right
It takes quite a few turns to get any obvious movement ......... it's well discussed here. Your plastic adjusters are probably in bit inside your headlamp. Remove the black rubber cover from the back of your light and check whether the reflector is wobbling in the breeze - a fair chance it is. If so, then look up the aluminium adjusters & how to fit them.

Facelift headlamps won't fit.  ;)

I did see those but they didn't seem to work, but from what you and other the guys are saying you need to turn them a few times.
But, when I changed the bulbs I did notice that the assemblies were loose or wobbling about, so maybe the adjusters need doing too?  ::)

best try and get a good s/h pair of vauxhall ones, Im not a fan of the DEPO ones sold on the popular auction site.

look nice but give poor light, and a bugger to adjust.
 ;)
