Hello.

I screwed it up when trying to clean my electric window switch and it now looks like it has been licked and bitten by a pack of wolves. I need a replacement and the original part is expensive.

I've seen a part in a fairly good condition, but it comes from a RHD Vauxhall and I need it to work in a LHD Omega. The part looks identical, but the EPC shows a different part number. Maybe that's only due to the parts being for Vauxhall and Opel.

Should I go for it? Will it work in my Opel?

Hi all.

I opened this thread asking about the compatibility of electric window switches across Vauxhall and Opel cars.

Twiglet (thanks  ) sent me the part and I've tested it today. Result of the test: it works, but it isn't fully compatible.

Plugs and holes fit perfectly, every button and switch is working, but... driver's switch raises and lowers passenger's window and viceversa. This only affects the front part of the car. The rear windows work as in the switch (i.e. right is right and left is left).

I didn't test the mirror adjustment switch, but it is probably switched as well.

I have a working LHD switch. There is a circuit in it which receives the driver's input. Switching this board will restore the LHD right and left behavior or is it a wiring issue?

Well, TIS says different wiring for LHD and RHD, so I'll live with it.

I wonder if you could remove the relevent pins/sockets from the car's loom & swap them over  :-/ :-/

I'd rather swap stuff from the switch itself than from the car's loom. I'd try to swap the top plastic cover, which is what is ugly on mine, but if I feel the slightest smell of fail, I'll leave it as it is. Not worth ruining a second working switch.

Either that or a new switch (€130  )

I also had this issue.
Broke mine and bought one from the UK, mine is Opel.
And front is different in Vauxhall. Front windows work oppositely now but the rear ones are ok.
Thought of rewiring  it but never had the time to do it

Finally I've switched the plastic cover and kept mi original LHD electrics and wiring. LHD and RHD electric windows switches are identical except for the wiring.
