If your putting a non Bose HU in, then you have to remove all the speakers/amp etc and re-fit non Bose gear.

PM Dave DND, he's the expert and will explain in detail why you need to  :y

I'd see how you get on with it before looking to rip it out.

Actually sounds quite good - for its age, but wont play ipod/mp3s.

If it's a '99 then it could be one of 2 models:

CCRT700 - having a built in phone (just add SIM)
CCR800

Depends on when the car was registered TBH, but if it's a '99 model then will be the CCRT700.

You could use an FM modulator maybe?

Not that difficult to 'disable' the bose in those cars, but you will need to replace all the speakers, and get a non bose CD changer loom from a breaker here. Then just change the HU.

If you fancy more of a challenge, you can remove all the bose stuff, and sell it (amp, speakers, shelf etc).
