Converted from a Maxi 2 a few years ago and unused for some years since (WE ALL KNOW WHY THAT WAS THEN), I have put many hours of work into a restoration programme which has ground to a halt due to a recurring physical problem which prevents me from completing it(SHEER UGLINESS OF THE CAR). The car has been almost completely stripped mechanically(MORE LIKE THE PARTS RAN AWAY),a reconditioned sub-frame fitted, all brake parts dismantled and fitted with new seals, pads & shoes replaced(AND WELDED IN PLACE TO STOP IT FROM BEING REMOVED UNDER A PUBLIC ORDER OFFENCE),pipes replaced where necessary, clutch cylinders and plate replaced, displacers replaced with used tested ones, new main oil seal. Every part removed has been cleaned and repainted with industrial grade rustproofing(TO SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT FROM MORE BRITISH LEYLAND SHITE FROM WRECKING OUR LOVELY COUNTRY) paint and alloy parts cleaned and polished(WHY??????????????).A new exhaust system is fitted(PROBABLY STILL HAD THE ORIGINAL TIN POT EXHAUST) and wheels have been grit blasted(IN THE HOPE IT WOULD BLAST THE REST OF THE CAR AWAY),repainted and fitted with new Firestone tyres(FIREPROOF MORE LIKE)(they did a few miles on my other Maxi). Work is still needed to fix 3 leaks in ON (PEOPLE KEPT URINATING ON IT) the suspension pipework, some welding is needed to the front end of the offside sill,re-fitting of the interior and sundry other fitting jobs. It could do with a repaint. The original conversion was done by 2 guys in the Stockport (WHO ARE NOW PATIENTS OF DR HANIBAL LECTRE) area and they did a good job strengthening the body, after removing the roof(THE ORIGINAL ROOF WAS TOO HEAVY, TOO MUCH GAFFER TAPE OVER THE YEARS COVERING THE RUST), half  the tailgate & the top halves of the rear doors,by welding the rear half of the body into one piece, fitting a substantial roll bar and additional sections under the floor. All parts to complete are with the car which is running and will move under its own power. There is a very good hood and stereo system. It will need trailering to take it away (THEN SCRAPPING). I may be able to help with this(AS I OWN A BREAKERS YARD IN FACT). I recommend viewing before bidding and I can probably offer overnight accommodation for far away enthusiasts(SATURE DAY NIGHT IS BEST AS THATS SWINGERS NIGHT). If you are genuinely interested in finishing this project you can call me for further information on 01332 770583(Derby). I have put a modest starting price to discourage silly bids and a reserve which is far less than its parts value. Payment by cheque, clearance time required,or cash on collection()I REFUSE TO GIVE MORE THAN A TENNER TO REMOVE :y
