Hi all, my MV6 has started making a whining noise on start up and lasts about 2 minutes and then everything is fine. Is there some sort of pump that operates on start up and then cuts out after a couple of minutes?
Whatever it is it sounds like it`s on it`s way out and I want to sort it soon before it expires.
Must be all these journeys to the wet side of the Pennines

Seconday Air injection pump, lives behind the front nearside wing. It's to appease the green brigade but can just be unplugged or the fuse pulled (one of the two big fuses at the back of the engine fuse/relay box but can't now remember which on ) & forgotten about.

Injects air into the exhaust at start up and ............ er ............ er .........

Apparently makes no difference when unplugged ..... mine does the same as yours, I just ignore it.

No difference really. Is supposed to warm cats quicker for cold start emmissions. Mine is unplugged as are many I understand.
