Any coffins out there able to confirm how I connect my acer laptop to my Toshiba LCD tv? O have a usb socket on the tv but google throws up an s video cable . Would usb do it?

What model is your laptop? You will need to connect it via VGA or HDMI. Your TV & Laptop need to have connectors like these



You could use a HDMI to DVI adaptor....
