Rugby league

I'm not fussy on rugby, league or union. But I just watched the super league final, Saints v Leeds, and what a cracking game it was. I even found myself getting mildy excited.

I love playing league, it requires a lot more fitness than union and the hits are horrific in comparison.  When I played ou France we had a match against the Catalan Dragons who mullered us with a 30+-0 score.

that said league does nothing for my career in my current job. Call the movers and shakers are involved in union lol

Coming from Gloucester I didn't even know it existed until I was in my 20s!!!!

Only match I watched was Wigan vs Bath and Wigan won, the rematch in Union Bath won.

The Leeds Warrington game last week and the grand final this week were two of the best games I've seen in a long time. Total commitment from both sides, and good refereeing.

What I find refreshing, as someone who watches both codes, is how progressive Rugby League is in the way it is continually looks at how to improve the rules to make the game more entertaining (and safer). Its obviously driven by the need to survive commercially, but they are not stuck in the past.
Contrast that with a bunch of Union players who have just shown a pretty poor display of professionalism both on and off the field. They are still acting in a way that a team of pub players would have done 30 years ago. Drinking contests and throwing dwarfes are fine for the amateur fun player, but in the 21st century I'm afraid they need to put all that behind them at national level.

oops, just slipped of me soap box!

rugby league is without a doubt.. how can i put this.... RUBBISH!!!!

i'm a saints (northampton saints) season ticket holder. union is so much better in all aspects... a proper scrum. a proper line out. and PROPERLY CONTESTED ruck ball as opposed to the ''i'm going to tackle you then sit on you for 5 minutes'' league game. and kicking it away after 5 tackles????  :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\

sorry but union is and always will be better

Why don't you get off the fence and tell us how you really feel?  :D

Seriously though have you ever played league?  If not you won't know how much harder faster andbmore physical it is next to Union.  I openly admit to preferring Union to watch but playing give me league any day  :y
