COOLANT LEVEL CHECK
« on: 31 October 2011, 08:42:24 »

Hi All,
Sorry if this has been posted before!

My Omega CDX V6, is showing coolant level check on the display. I've checked the tank and the level was fine. Just in case I added a little water just to top it up slightly and it still shows the fault on the display.

I did a 200 mile journey in the car yesterday and the engine seemed to run fine with no overheating. Temp gauge sat at 85 the whole journey. Is that the right temp?

Any suggestions as to what may be causing the Coolant Level CHECK to come on the display?

Cheers as always for all of your help.

Paul

Level sensor in coolant bottle is sticking. You can try to move it up and down to get it working but it's cheap enough in your country to buy a new reservoir  :y

They're around £35 & take 5 minutes to swap over. There's a clip on the wing side of it then you slide it towards the engine plus hoses.  ;)
