My mate lives in Singapore, and has just spent the better part of £20k building a house in his Filipina girlfriend's, Mum's, back garden.....  :) 

It looks fantastic, but the trouble is that it's in a remote part of The Philippines and is a 2 day trip from Singapore, involving a train, 2 planes, a jeepney and a ferry :o I don't think he thought it through properly!!  ::) 

Still, her family have a lovely house to live in now, which is abit of an upgrade from the bamboo hut that they lived in before!!  ;D ;D ;D

Would be very nice as a 'holiday home', but personally it's a bit 'two storey up-market Butlins chalet' to be a main residence.

Yep, and comes with a swimming pool, my point is for £25k  you get a 4 bedroom house, on a complex, and given those costs I could retire comfortably ....... :D :D
Not a serious  option, but if I were younger I would be considering if my Profession could be transferred, which I think could be.....though very different values...... :)

Fair point, I hadn't noticed the asking price was relatively 'loose change'.
