The ribbons are readily available from quite a few places for a mere few pence usually.

But as they are chemically / heat bonded to the glass, they are of little use as they require some very specific and expensive machinery to join them together.

Hand held soldering devices are of no use as you cannot get a "level" clamp / bond, and a bench mounted bonding machine with clamps and jigs was around the £3K mark secondhand when I last enquired a few months ago.

You are right Dave,chemical/heat bonded asked at work today.My boss said i am welcome to use the bonding machine,but i will have to buy the clamps and jigs myself.I am going to look in to it,as i could probably recoup my outlay repairing them.I will keep you posted,Dean
