Hmmm, explain this...

I'm following AA around Sherbert land, he is 1st, I'm 2nd, AA is picking up big mushrooms and green shells, all I'm getting is bananas and those blocks?

I thought it was supposed to give increasingly better powerups the further back you are?  Even when last, I wasn't getting anything useful.  All night, the best I have picked up is single red shells and 3 green ones.

Bizarre.
