Aftermarket Gearbox flange
« on: 09 January 2012, 20:17:16 »

Evening all.

I'll 'fess up and admit I'm only here because I'm transplanting an X30XE into a Reliant Scimitar, which may sound familiar.

My question is, do any Vauxhall tuners offer an aftermarket flange for the back of the Omega's gearbox? A traditional universal joint is better for a live-axled car, so a traditional 4-bolt flange would be better. It occurred to me that something like this might have come up for X30XE's going into retro Kadetts and such.

Any info appreciated,

Cheers,
Darryl

never seen one, but the Omega B transmission is the same as late Mantas ( the five-speed ones ), so that might be a better place to start your search.

Then again, you could use the two-piece Omega B propshaft and restrain the centre joint - just have the rear portion wagging up and down with the axle.
