My 42 year old son went to the funeral of a past footballing mate, of similar age, yesterday, who died after a supposed 95% success rate bone marrow transplant for his particular type of cancer. As if that wasn't bad enough for his two sons, (one was 21 on Monday), we've just learned that his wife has succumbed to breast cancer today, having been in a hospice for some months.
Some people do have an inordinate amount of trials in their lives. I just hope the boys and the respective parents manage to cope with a terrible situation.
Spare them some thoughts.
