2006 Corsa 1.2 problems
« on: 16 January 2012, 21:37:53 »

My son's girlfriends Corsa had a flat battery (original battery, car owned from new mileage 23,000) We jump started and it started, but misfiring and would not rev past 1800-2000 rpm, and sevice light on.  It was very cold so I towed the car to my house with the engine ticking over (to keep them warm). Switched engine off and plugged in my Maxscan 500 and no faults where stored. Started engine again and it appears to be running normally and service light gone off.
I intend to fit a new battery tomorrow morning, but I am pretty stumped as to what the other fault was/is.

Any help from you great people will be greatly appreciated by me especially.

This is likely to be a Corsa that has things like EPS (Electronic Power Steering) and other such things. If the battery/alternator aren't providing the correct current/volts then this may kick up a fault code. Get the battery and alternator checked/fixed/replaced and then see if it returns.

As above ,likely to be low voltage errors which have cleared themselves once full voltage was restored
