Maybe when they hike the road tax they'll spend some money on maintaining the roads. Ours really are a disgrace now.

Pigs fuelled and ready for take-off. ::)

The local roads around here are a disgrace as well.

The local council have a pothole hotline so Iring them to report a specially bad road that I cycle along every day to work, telling them of the extra bad holes and they say all will be sorted (at least 8 in one area alone!).

A week later only one hole is filled in badly all the rest ignored so I am going to photo them all and keep copies.

If I come to grief on any of them all feking hell will break loose, useless bunch of a****holes in our coucil too busy increasing their allowances by 30% etc. to do any proper work!

Oh no I'm going off on one, nurse I need my medication right now.

But surely your council is like Swindon council........at the moment they are resurfacing roads everywhere........unfortunately they are doing roads that actually dont need doing and leaving ones that do  >:(

Its the same every year......Feb and March, they go mad resurfacing.......now they wouldnt be spending council tax money just to use it up, would they?  ::)

When pulling out of a junction yester day swmbo's car bangs about from left to right so much I end up banging my head off of the top of the door.

Not fun.

I go off on a rant about the stiff suspension on her car and end up p**sing her off!

I apologise.

We go out today in my miggy, approach the same junction, I pull out of same junction, even my miggy bounces about from side to side.

We both were surprised as to how damaged the road is.

I know where you guys are coming frim.

As I understand it, Councils have to give back funding allocated for specific purposes if they are not used by a deadline date, and the next funding would be reduced accordingly.
Southport sees it happen every year at this sort of time. Bloody crazy.

I know this to be true. I work for a large company which supplies "X" (removed for fear of incrimination) to Local Authorities. I run a profit centre and sometimes have to take their money (especially over the last couple of months of each financial year) so that they have "spent it". I then hold it for them in my coffers for them to spend at their will with me over the coming years. Some of them are stock-piling very large sums of money.

It's a bloody fiddle, doesn't do me (my business) much good because we can't recognise the revenue until we actually deliver on it. All we get is the interest, which I suppose is not insignificant.
