Much of my childhood was split between school at Ardingly in Sussex, and staying with family up on The Lleyn peninsular.

spent a lot of time in my Holidays wandering around snowdonia, getting buzzed by fighters , and also watching them do low level sea approaches,

then got to go to school  and watch the larger planes buzz the chapel tower doing bombing run practice on Balcombe viaduct , and reservoir.....

then lived on Anglesey, followed by Colwyn bay
I've got mates stationed at RAF Valley/...

i've got a couple of photos somewhere..... of them flying through "a valley", taking photos of me........   as their "target"

:D

which was at the time, pretty cool.....     & now I think about it, also slightly disturbing ;)

I remember some years ago that an irate farmer; sick of RAF low level flying around his farm painted "P*ss Off Biggles" in 10 ft. high letters on his barn roof!
However, his plan`s intent slightly backfired as flight-crews repeatedly returned to take pics. and as word spread amongst other squadrons.
