......
Andy, i've got an irrational issue with satnavs. I can't justify it suffice to say they're high up on "MY" Gay list, i just can't stand the things. I see local folk in £200 Escorts with a £400 screen stuck in the window all lit up going to the co op!! Pillocks. Plus the HGV upgrade to show low bridges, weight & width restrictions is'nt cheap. I had a very vague delivery address in Leicester a while back. A mate's satnav directed me down two un named roads. Glad i ignored it & phoned the customer. Turned out to be south of Hinckley! In an artic you can get into trouble when directed through a housing estate. Not like in a car or van when you turn round anywhere & try again.
Sorry mate, i'll never buy one. They have thier advantages & are a clever idea but i'm a luddite & fear change. I'm nearly 2 years overdue a free phone upgrade but don't want a blackberry or touchscreen phone. I don't like them either!!!! ::) ::) :y :y

I know 40' of car & caravan isn't quite the same as 40-odd tonnes of HGV but I use my TomTom when towing when you can't just do a quick U turn. You just have to use them as a guide & not blindly follow 'her' directions. :y :y :y

oddly enough,  i spent much of my childhood, and a bit of nearly every year since , in the next village up,  Llangwnnadl.   and indeed, still have family there.

there's some brutal 90 degree turns on not much more than single track road,  getting down to there,    some of which an artic will simply not go round....

not to mention the little hump back bridges......

so careful route choice is fairly important.....

i'll put me thinking cap on

the most direct route,

A499> Llanbedrog, then B4413 to Rhosirwaun ,

has 2 tight 90 degree corners that might prove challenging....  ,

one in a village (Sarn Meyllteyrn) , and one  in the middle of nowhere,  out in a wooded rural area,  that you can't really see on google earth as it's covered in trees....

52.854275,-4.546398

is the grid ref,

check it out on street view....  it's a nasty tight little bugger.
