As Albs says the real ones simply work hard, and I think you will find they pay their taxes, as much as any self employed person does :-X :-X :-X Their overheads are simply lower than ours.... :y

I think meeting one of them would be as likely as this , ;D

Hm...there can be a lot of gipsy tribes by wrote above and I'm sure you'll read below about a different species. Hereby we have several problems with them. They make money from everything we would never think and one stuff is sure : don't need to pay any tax to Hungarian State beeing so called "minority". Must admit they are following very effective policy : just producing children and earn a lot of money they get for babies. I know about two tribes of theirs in Hungary they are : "Beás" and "Lovári" . The "Beás" tribe mostly get by music, excellent musicians there are in this tribe first of all violinists. There is no more serious problem with "Beás" they are the aristocracy of all gipsies here.  The "Lovári"  don't leave children to go to school so they have no  basic skill or profession and the most trouble is here. Without basic knowledge they have no skill so don't get any job plus there are a lot of children, brothers and sisters with no money but hungry. What do they do? Crime : steal, cheat, lie. Not to mention the primitive attitude of gipsy man : brutality as a tool that in hand all the time. A very sad accident occurred some years ago at a small village called "Olaszliszka" Hungary, a small gipsy girl was hit by a car drove a teacher. Not really hit but  she was taken off with her cycle .The teacher stopped his own car to see what happened and help is if it's needed. Wish he hadn't do that. He was on the ground 10minutes later and died by hits of sticks of crazy gipsy group. His girls sat in the car and had to see all...The absolute incompetency of Hungarian law was showed up namely the close relatives were not obligated to admit what they saw.Has to be known : in a gipsy village everybody are everybody's close relative...Eight persons are under charge but everybody know that the really killers still at home beeing family heads. And it is only one event I wrote you but there are a lot and happening day by day. Gipsies make up 95 percent of population of Hun prisons. Not too long ago I heard about a gipsy group who asked political asylum in Canada, which they later got. More later they were sent back to home with charge of creating a well working crime organisaton, which arranged to live illegally in Canada for other gypsies. They destroy the reputation of Hungary anywhere they are! Everybody think that they are Hungarians BUT THEY ARE NOT! To be Hun or to have Hungarian citizenship is not the same!

P.S.:  the small gipsy girl becouse of whom the teacher died was not injuried not even her cycle...

Not had too much to do with them to be honest other than sorting out the mess and upset they left my 90 year old Grandma in, twice!  Perceive them and the fair folk who descend once a year as trouble. >:(

A gypsy boy was murdered a few years back on an estate near where I worked, complete uproar!  The funeral was an experience to behold!  The local police actually confined local people/business'/offices etc. to their buildings. I was refused exit from my work on an emergency call out with the explanation that majority of the vehicles in the procession would be untaxed and uninsured so best that honest people stay off the roads for the duration!  Says it all really, want nuking the lot of them.  Don't bother moving them on just set fire to their vehicles etc.  I wouldn't get away with being untaxed and uninsured nor leaving the mess that they do. >:(

As a child I can remember Romany Gypsies with their horses and beautiful caravans camping not far from here.

The Romany Gypsies absolutely hate, the Irish travelers, many of whom can't be pure Gypsies as they don't have brown eyes, black hair and a dark complexion. They hate the bad reputation they give them.

Where I live there are a lot of Gypsies, most of whom live in houses, some I wouldn't spit on, others I could and would happily trust with my life. A long time a go, I learnt to treat people on an individual basis, I either like them or not, can trust them or not and all things like race, colour, creed are all irreverent to this.

Gypsies by nature are assertive, but if you are firm and polite to them, generally they will respect you for that. Some of them I know are crooks, others are honest and very hard working and there are many in this country that run successful businesses and pay their taxes, but that doesn't make good news stories or TV programs!

The bad ones mean that they all tend to get tarred with the same brush (no pun intended) and the good ones have to endure the the racism and insults along with the ones that deserve them.

 ;)
I suppose you mean the 'travelling community' (unmarked tranny man) and not the true Gypsy (Romany) clans whom I can have respect for. I was taught to believe, and have learned through my own practical experiences over the years that the employment of the 'travelling community' who we now supply and build free (from our council taxes) cushy camp sites for, is to rip off as many taxpayers as they can and aquire for free as much as they can by any means from the same people while breeding like rabbits. Their motto probably is if I cannot pay for it I will take it anyway.
Parasites is what they are and what they will always be. The definition of a Parasite is something that freely lives off a host and gives nothing in return. Sounds right to me!
Question....What the hell would they do without the tranny or tarmac?
Hope one day that the tax system catches up with them all and they lose the lot, plus a nice lot of jail time too for good measure.  ;D

The gipsy question began here in the 50' years here when traditional gipsy skills became prohibited by communist regime and the originally very good agricultural possibility Hungary was pushed become to be a heavy industrial country "The country of iron and steel" as a former terminology. The leaders weren't experts but party leaders and decided without any knowledge. So the gipsies were pushed into the industry where they got menial jobs - being no any skills - and after the economical collapse of communism, wich was followed by political collapse they stay without job. And that was the point where their story of crime began. There are still a lot of gipo people who can write off only their own name but no more! They do all the time that they parents say and know/respect only one law - it's theirs own one.
