WANTED: 3.2 V6 Elite Omega
« on: 16 April 2012, 00:55:35 »

Hey,

As the title says.

Wanted:

    * ELITE spec, or similar (i.e - cruise control, sunroof, air-con, leather seats)
    * 3.2 Litre V6.
    * Prefered in Black, however not to picky.
    * Mileage is no problem but recent service history is a must, otherwise not interested.
    * MUST be M.O.T worthy!

I'm basically after a motor that won't give me any headaches anytime soon. I'm looking to keep it for at least 8 months.

Thanks!  :y

I'd have thought that all Omegas are now way too old to have a fully stamped service book, but that doen't mean that they haven't been fully serviced. Also, a Vauxhall serviced car would've had oil changes at 20 000 miles & most cars here have been better looked after with far more frequent oil changes. eg the last time my car was serviced by anyone but me was over 8 yrs ago, so on paper you wouldn't want it, but in the real world I'd be happy to drive it anywhere in the country or further at the drop of a hat.  :y :y :y

I'd have thought if a vehicle was serviced by yourself you'd keep receipts of some sort though right? :) I've been reading through the general problems and wouldn't want to be faced with any. However you have a point, if the person can be vouched for here on the forum, then I wouldn't have a problem taking their word for it.  :y

Oh, and I'm not looking to spend mega bucks. There’s one for sale now for 350 ono (3.0 though) if it wasn't for the leaking cam cover I'd of snapped it up! Last year I almost bought a 3.2 ex-plod on here for £700 I believe. There's also another now (again 3.0) for £700 which looks to be in tip-top condition but can't be guaranteed an M.O.T which is a shame. :(

I have, but it's not a stamped up service book though.  ;) ;) Reciepts could come from anywhere.  ;) ;)

Personally, I keep a detailed spreadsheet of all the work carried out on the car, together with all the receipts.  If a buyer turns his nose up at that, I'll happily show him the door!  ;)
