Thumbs up to Waitrose Petrol Station
« on: 30 March 2012, 15:47:55 »

Last night I needed LPG. I went to Waitrose, which was my last hope for LPG in Cheltenham. The only other one, Shell, was closed.

There were notices everywhere at Waitrose saying no fuel, but shop open.

I spoke to the girl in the shop, and said "I know you're out of fuel, but what about LPG"?

"No worries - I'll turn the pump back on for you"  :y 8)

Nice when you get good customer service, eh?

The downside is, I thought I was going to be attacked by an outraged woman in front of me wanting petrol, who had been turned away - and thought I was getting preferential treatment  ;D

I did get preferential treatment at my local Shell a couple of nights ago :-X They were running low on Diesel (already out of petrol) and about to shut all the pumps down to clear the huge traffic jams but saw it was me in the Fuel Doctor van and let me have 30L, which was enough to be able to do some work the next day :y

Thumbs down for Wheatley Services near Oxford. My son said he went in there for a KFC and the fuel station area apparently had no fuel but he noticed that diesel was £1.50 per litre. He ate his KFC and about half an hour later when he drove past the fuel area on his way out he noticed that they suddenly did have fuel but diesel was £1.52 per litre.  >:(

That actually makes a lot of sense if you think it through .... Old fuel price £1.50 and tanks sold out.

New fuel delivery = new fuel price. If they put it up BEFORE the delivery you'd soon be moaning ... but if it goes up after delivery whats the problem ??

......or are you just making some massive assumptions ??? If you are.. become a journalist .. seems to be all they do is assume ...

Was there any need for the snipe. If your theory is correct, they must use invisible tankers as you can see the fuel area from the rest area. I'll leave it at that. ::)
