NCDC3013 and TID...will it work temporarily?
« on: 20 April 2012, 16:11:30 »

If I was to get an NCDC unit with its GID (you can guess where from) - until I got round to wiring in the GID and the extras, would the NCDC work by itself? OR does it need wiring in with the screen?

To get the NCDC would mean selling the radio that's in there, and I don't fancy having no radio while I never get round to wiring in a screen...

The NCDC2013 and GID are paired, and need specific wiring.  The NCDC units only work with GID or CID screens.  So in short, the answer is no unfortunately.  :(

Bugger.

Can I then wire them in so the GID does radio, satnav, and phone, but ground out the check control so none of the warnings come on?

Can Tech2 the GID to turn the Check Control off.

Seeing as you have a TID, guess yours is GLS, thus 4 pot or 2.5?  Most GIDs come from 3.2, thus need a chitchat with Tech2 anyway to get Fuel Computer close. And disable Bose on NCDC and GID.

Sorry, ex-plod 3.2 - hence I'll definitely want some help with the wiring. >goes to update profile<

So, broadly I need -

 - GID (with some loom from the other side of the plug, 6" or so?)
 - Coolant bottle w/sensor - IIRC the loom is there already on my car
 - Washer fluid sensor/ ring - there's a plug tied up near my bottle, assuming this is right
 - Sump with oil level sensor - is this necessary or can I ground the wires and/ or Tech2 it?
 - Roll of wire
 - Wiring diagrams

 - no wiper stalk needed as its controlled by the NCDC, correct?

Then follow the destructions found here - http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=97670.msg1223442#msg1223442 - correct?

If I'm not fussed about washer level, coolant level, can all that be turned off (and wiring disregarded or earthed) to just leave me with stereo, satnav and phone?

bulb monitoring needs to be added as well.

Think it can all be sorted by pull-up and pull-down resistors.  Or, as previously stated, disable *ALL* check control functions via Tech2. Ideally, you want to disable Bose anyway

Ah, sorry, I misunderstood - if you can disable all check control, that'd leave me with exactly as I have now with the TID, I wouldn't miss it - levels and bulbs are checked every time it gets a wash...

So, GID with plug and 6" loom, NCDC, wiring diags, some wire.

Wire in fuel gauge, ECU, brake switch (?), Fuse 2, ECU body loom plug

Get a friendly Tech2er to disable everything else, and it's good to go?
