Immobiliser
« on: 30 April 2012, 21:54:09 »

Not VX related but sure somebody more electrically minded can be of help.

Daughter has a MK2 Renault clit 1998 which has an intermittent fault with the immobiliser and on more than 1 occassion has caused the car not to start ..not great for a nurse at 9.30pm trying to get home after 13 hour shift.

The "red " dash board immobiliser light doesn,t always go out and has been suggested we need to by-pass the immobiliser with some electronic gadget as not financially viable replacing the entire unit.

Any advise on who makes them and are they just a gimmick or do they really work.

Cheers Mark.

clit is giving daughter problems with starting..its defo the immobiliser as warning light is constantly flashing when unlocked.Works sometimes and then not others.

Did google search and they seem to be around £100 for a plug in jobbie whaic seems loads more than LR one you described.
