Found my grandparents a camper
« on: 19 May 2012, 09:38:17 »

Grandpa & GrandmaT were looking for a camper, after selling their caravan they missed it. Part of the problem was having to go to a storage (some distance away) to prep it. They had a camper years ago, decided they wanted another one.

I took them around some sites yesterday looking over them all, some of them were quite nasty. We had almost given up, but one of the last ones we saw, ticked all right boxes.

For one, GrandmaT could easily climb in. She was struggling with number of them, high steps, even with handles was a real struggle. This one though, tired, end of the day, straight in without thinking. There was a very wide & big step, which was electric, which made a big difference.

Its a Murvi Morello, on research later, found it was only 1 of 2 I can find for sale currently. Inside it was refreshing, no wood anywhere, very modern looking and some nice touches like a flat screen TV mounted into a wall.

For a camper, i'd not seen many campers that had, Awning, Aircon, Cruise, Alloy wheels & Parking Sensors! After last post, also pleased its got the bigger 2.8 engine which is actually more frugal than the 2.2.

The finish was really nice, turns out they won some awards.

At this point i'd like to say a big thanks to Bucko, we were after another type, but later dismissed it when seeing it. But he took the time to take a photo of glasses guide book price, label whats what.  :y

Bring the car, then you can bring Geoff - she hinted to me that she is not against the idea of camping. And the girls can go out shopping and buy shoes and shite, we can play boys toys ;)

For a van, it was nice, not like run of the mill ones that just fill it with fake wooden cupboards. Price new on these things is near £50k  :o

It has some nice touches, I spied an LPG filler. Standard ones we fit to cars, first thoughts were LPG to diesel? (i know some trucks run a mix system of derv) But it actually goes to cylinders mounted inside. So pull up to petrol station & tank them up. Guess its more tax than buying other way? But given small tanks can't see it being much.

Also found out belt was replaced just last month on it, £500 bill :o

Method for releasing sofa into a bed, all solid and well made. Quite impressed overall really, should suit them well  :)
