....is an Advent 4214 with Atom N270...

TB and Mr Zok were correct  thanks.....Advent were wrong...

Advent claimed max mem was 1GB......TB and Mr Zok reckoned 2GB.

I ordered a 2GB simm last weekend, which arrived during the week.....this morning i fitted it and lo and behold it see's the 2GB simm.

It now has doz7 on it, instead of XP and seems to be ok with it.....in fact its running faster than XP was, tho the XP was at the stage it needed re-installing....so thought id try doz7 on it.
Its not as fast as my desktop....tho that has an i5 in it....

So thanks to TB and Mr Zok as without their knowledge i wouldnt have tried a 2GB simm in it and certainly wouldnt have tried doz7 with only 1GB

7 with one Gig does tend to resemble an arthritic ant going uphill with some rather heavy shopping.
Ask the Gnome, he sold me the 2 Gig out of his and went back to 1 and long waits.

Win7 will run in 1G, but boot times are extended, and you do get occasional slow-downs.  Moreso with those chipsets that steal RAM for video.

IME, on Netbooks, Win7 (with enough resources, ie 2Gb RAM) runs quicker than XP (no gain in having more than 1G normally).
