What does this mean ?

I was in the car waiting for SWMBO and bored so was pressing button on the left hand stalk restting the fuel etc then I pressed and held the two bottom switches in together and held them (ignition on) and the display changed
it comes up with a three digit number top left and a 5/6 digit number bottom right its always the same numbers just wondered what it is if anyone has any idea  :)

Does anyone know what the latest software version is?
Is it any easy procedure to update the software?
Any benefits in doing so?

Yes (it varies with hardware)
Yes (if you have a Tech2)
