The sun £9.50 holidays
« on: 29 June 2012, 20:57:20 »

I see they are starting their promotion again of these short breaks. Does anyone have any experience of them?
Do they have any sites in wales as we were planning a few days there at some point in august.
Is £9.50 really all you have to pay to get away for a few days?
Are you allowed to take dogs?

We've done it a few times, it is very worthwhile doing it - you end up paying a fair bit more than £9.50 each when you pay for linen, passes for things etc but it's still a hell of a lot cheaper than you'd pay otherwise, go for it  :y

I was always lucky enough to get my first choice, and must have used this scheme about 6 or 7 times now  :y

Yup

Do they have any sites in wales
Quite a few dotted all over the country, they list them in the paper.

Is £9.50 really all you have to pay to get away for a few days?
Nope.
You have to pay for your leccy & gas, you'll have to pay for access to most of the site facilities, and there are a few other small charges that arise.
Last time we went on one it cost us £100 by the time we paid for leccy, gas, site passes, etc, plus the petrol to get there & back and whatever we spent while we were there.

Are you allowed to take dogs?
Some sites allow them if IIRC, check the website of the site you are planning to stay at.

Nothing wrong with a cheap holiday. its what you spend during it that empties the pockets especially if you have a couple of kids. it all adds up in the end. time off work, travelling expenses, meals and enjoyment. go for it and enjoy  :y

Used them a while ago when they used to be £1 weekend breaks.  Probably wouldn't use again, due to the extras making it not massively cheaper than similar parks when offers are on.  Additionally, being short breaks, you have to bear in mind travelling costs for just a Fri-Sun weekend...
